It’s been a strange one.
Tried out a few more classes than I’m used to. I was lucky enough to get a good handful that interested me.
History - Prehistoric to 1500s
Humanities - PreHist to 1500s
English - Forgot the name… your standard entry-level essay/composition class
Intro to Philosophy
Survey of Math [for non-science/math majors]
Intro to Forestry
Dropped Philosophy and math the first day. Philosophy was a horrendous waste of time. I thought I’d learn some interesting, stimulating, practical concepts, but it’s not that kind of class. Didn’t take Survey of Math because I’m realizing computer science might be the way to go. I tried to get into the programming class, but it was crazy full.
History is going to kick my ass. I love that it’s not test and memorization-based, but relies more on writing and argument. The professor seems like a hard ass, albeit a helpful one. Humanities seems like it’ll be fun. The professor is nuts—in a good way. Shouldn’t be too much of a challenge. I haven’t had my first english class yet; we’ll see on Monday night. Forestry seems alright. Taking it because my brother took it. He told me it’s a relatively easy class, plus I can use some of the science credit.
So, my semester won’t be the suffocating, overwhelming mess I thought it would be. I’ll be looking for a job then… Maybe I’ll have enough time to start writing and recording music on the side.
